The Washington Nationals' poor outfield play proved costlier than the Orioles' baserunning blunders. Luke Scott homered, Melvin Mora hit a tiebreaking double in the 5th inning and the Orioles rallied past Washington 5-3 Friday night for their 6th triumph in 7 games and 3rd consecutive come from behind win.

Dave Trembley would not contain his pleasure after watching the Orioles beat Josh Beckett and the defending world champion Red Sox. "It mentioned that something about our team, the way the guys came back against one of the better pitchers in baseball", Trembley mentioned after Tuesday night's 5-4 win.

Twelve straight losses to the Orioles was a dirty dozen for Royals. Brian Bannister allowed 2 singles in 8 innings and the Royals beat Baltimore 4-0 Sunday to end their skid against the Orioles. It was Kansas City's 1st win over Baltimore since July 25th, 2006.

This was the guy who led the American League in losses last year? Actually, no, said Daniel Cabrera's manager and teammates. The poised, 6 foot 9 pitcher who shut down Kansas City on 3 hits whilst leading the Orioles to a 4-1 win Thursday night is a far different pitcher than he was in 2007.

An injury to Chone Figgins overshadowed a good game for Jon Garland and the Angels. Garland pitched 3 hit ball for 8 innings, Gary Matthews Jr. drove in 2 runs and the Angels beat the Orioles 3-1 on Saturday. Figgins hurt his right hamstring whilst scoring an insurance run in the 8th inning and had to leave the game.
