Cincinnati Reds
05/17/2008 Jay Bruce might be the hottest hitter on the planet. His bat is ready for the big leagues. The only thing preventing a call up is the Reds do not have a spot for him to play. Trading Ken Griffey Jr. would open a spot.
05/17/2008 It is been a long time since Cleveland's pitching staff got walked on this way. Adam Dunn homered and drew a tiebreaking walk with the bases loaded in the 8th inning Friday night, sending the Reds to their season high 4th straight win, 4-3 over the intrastate rival Indians.
05/14/2008 The Seattle Mariners covet Ken Griffey Jr. would like him as much as a loving mom would like to see her children on Mother's Day. Club President Chuck Armstrong would like the Reds outfielder desperately, would like him to inject excitement into the Mariners and boost attendance, because Armstrong knows Griffey is a deity in the Northwest.
05/14/2008 Jeff Keppinger's broken left kneecap had taken all the luster away from the Reds' 2nd straight triumph over a 1st place team. Edinson Volquez pitched 6 effective innings, Joey Votto homered and Cincinnati earned a costly 5-3 win over the Marlins Tuesday.
05/13/2008 "That is the 1st time I have had it and this is my 23d year", home plate ump and crew chief Dale Scott mentioned of the Reds batting out of order yesterday in the 9th inning against the Mets, a little snafu that was resolved in what seemed like a matter of hours.
