Given the opportunity to decide, outfielder Jacque Jones' 1st choice might be to join the Marlins. That is what Jones, who the Tigers designated for assignment last week, informed an associate. For now, Jones has no control over his next destination.

Jeff Keppinger's broken left kneecap had taken all the luster away from the Reds' 2nd straight triumph over a 1st place team. Edinson Volquez pitched 6 effective innings, Joey Votto homered and Cincinnati earned a costly 5-3 win over the Marlins Tuesday.

All those runs looked mighty good to Aaron Harang. Jeff Keppinger and Brandon Phillips hit 2 run homers in the 7th inning Monday night, breaking open a tied game and sending Harang to a long-awaited win, 8-7 over the surging Marlins.
