Padres Aquire: Carson Fulmer, Spencer Adams, Matt Davidson, Chris Beck, Jhoandro Alfaro

White Sox Aquire: James Shields, Ryan Butcher

CWS option LHP Matt Purke and RHP Miguel Gonzalez to Triple-A

The White Sox are now in the hunt for James Shields. Since the bullpen has struggled down the sttrech for the Sox, I put in an arm that could help them. Thoughts?

The sox will not trade Fulmer for a struggling Shields at this point in the season.

Shields is not necessarily struggling as much as his team is. He isn't getting any run support. He has only a 3.09 era but his team has only scored 2 or less runs in all but 2 of his starts.

Him giving up 10 ER in a game doesn't help his case.

I don't think Shields would bring that much back. Plus if the White Sox make this particular trade they won't be able to make that many more trades since this is most of their good prospects in a bare system.
