A good trade has, at its core, the ability to match the needs of two teams with their surplus available quality talent. The Indians and the Brewers appear to "match".

Brewers receive:

Danny Salazar or Mike Clevinger
Jason Kipnis
Francisco Mejia

Corey Knebel or Josh Hader
Lewis Brinson
The Brewers Competitive Balance B pick in the 2018 draft.

The Brewers are in need of major league pitching. Danny Salazar, when healthy, is as good as anyone that takes the hill. Mike Clevinger is a young and capable SP that truly showed he is a MOR SP in the second half of 2017. Jason Kipnis is now healthy. When healthy (e.g. 2015 & 2016), he put up 4.0+ WAR seasons. Francisco Mejia is a young canon armed back stop on the verge of a ML career. His bat and arm define him as a player.

The Indians are looking down the double barrel problem of losing both Andrew Miller and Cody Allen following the 2018 season. Adding Knebel or Hader to the pen a year early, makes all the sense in the world. Adding Lewis Brinson to the current roster and the coming stable of young OF'ers (Brad Zimmer, Greg Allen and recent acquisitions: Holmes/Benson/J_Rod/O-Gonz) gives the Tribe a bright future.

I guess you have some decent points, but there's no chance that this happens.
