Eric Gagne got another view of a blown save, from the bench. Juan Pierre hit a go-ahead, 2 run double in the 9th inning off Guillermo Mota, and the Dodgers overcame a 3 run deficit to beat the Brewers 6-4 Wednesday night and stop a season-high, 5 game losing streak.

Eric Gagne is back, reportedly for good. After a one day break from his position as the Brewers' closer, Gagne pitched a scoreless 9th inning to save a 5-3 win over the Dodgers Tuesday. However, only as it was all season, Gagne's outing was not without drama.

The Astros had as much difficulty getting a hit against Hiroki Kuroda as the Dodgers' usually reliable bullpen did in getting outs. Kuroda had taken a no hitter into the 7th inning before the Astros broke through for 7 hits and 6 runs in the 8th inning and pulled out an 8-5 win Sunday.

It was almost a year since a Mets starter pitched more than 8 innings. John Maine finished that drought and his teammates made it easy for him with their 2nd best offensive output of the season. Maine had taken a shutout into the 9th and the Mets routed the Dodgers and Brad Penny, 12-1 Wednesday.
