Carlos Quentin did what he does every day, checked the lineup card to see if he was playing. This time, he was batting 3rd for the 1st time this season. Quentin made White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen look smart when he broke an 8th inning tie with his 1st career grand slam in Chicago's 6-1 win over the Angels Wednesday.

Jered Weaver looked nothing like a pitcher who had a 7.02 ERA over his previous 6 starts. Weaver allowed one hit over 7 innings, combining with 2 relievers on a 3 hitter, and Mike Napoli hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the 8th to lead the Angels to a 2-0 win over the White Sox Tuesday.

Nick Adenhart did not have long to enjoy his 1st major league win. He was only happy to get it before he was sent down to the minors to make way for John Lackey's return to the Angels' rotation.

With James Shields pitching the way he is, the Tampa Bay Rays are starting to think anything is possible. Shields pitched a one hitter and Evan Longoria's two-run, 9th inning homer gave the surging Rays a 2-0 win over the Angels Friday.

So was this the best game Ervin Santana ever threw? "So far", mentioned the Angels' unbeaten right hander, a sly smile spreading across his face. In his 1st complete game since the night he got his 1st major league win in 2005, Santana (6-0) allowed 4 hits and no walks and struck out 9 in a masterful 4-0 win Monday night over Kansas City.
