White Sox trade: Sale
Nationals trade: Giolito, Robles, Ross, Feede.

Mambaout

Am I the only one realizing trading with the Nats is counter-productive for my white sox?
-We have pitching, young pitching too.
-We need position players (more than a 19 year old outfielder)

But I think the value is fair. Believable.

2.) 06 Dec 2016 16:53:58
DrakeLaroche. You can never have enough pitching. Giolito is the top pitching prospect in baseball. To pair him with Rodon and Fulmer (i think Quintana is on the move too) is very smart. Robles is a very solid prospect who can be an All-Star. I wouldn't be mad to move Sale for them. Especially when you won't be contenders anytime soon.

3.) 06 Dec 2016 17:25:43
aj62088, solid point. I just can't help but to look at what Yankees got for Miller and chapman or even what the cubs got for Smardjza a couple years back.

I'd perfer to make a deal with an LA or Boston to get players that play 162.

Maybe I'm just being a pessimist due to our track record with trades.

Rockies offseason

Rockies trade: Blackmon
O's trade: Brach, Mancini

Rockies get potential 1B guy and a great all star bullpen guy.
O's trade from an area of strength to address an area of weakness

Chris Carter 1/ 7.5
Tyson Ross 2/ 28 1st year 10M 2nd year 18M
Seth Maness 2/ 4 1st year 1M second year 3M comes with club option for second year.

Mambaout

1.) 03 Dec 2016 21:17:25
The Rockies have been asking for the moon for Blackmon. This isn't going to be remotely close.

2.) 04 Dec 2016 01:39:22
An all star player?

3.) 04 Dec 2016 13:28:39
The Rockies have been known to want guys like Alex Reyes for Blackmon.

Reyes is so much more valuable than Brach. It's actually not close.

Couple Pirates trades

1st trade
Pirates trade: Cutch
Indians trade: Salazar

OR
Pirates trade: Cutch
Indians trade: Bauer, Francisco Mejia

2nd trade
Pirates trade: Josh Harrison
Dodgers trade: Yadier Alvarez, Jordan Sheffield

3rd trade
Pirates trade: Watson
Giants trade: Tyler Beede, Sam Coonrod, Jordan Johnson.

Mambaout

1.) 01 Dec 2016 13:40:46
No to Salazar being traded.

Doubt the second trade would get McCutchen to Cleveland.

2.) 01 Dec 2016 14:11:46
watson is good, but no one is giving that package up. maybe in july, even then probably not.

3.) 01 Dec 2016 14:32:33
Being a Husker fan, I love Tony Watson, but that's an utterly outrageous package for him. Wow.

4.) 01 Dec 2016 15:30:01
Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer had an extremely heated rivalry during their college days. For this reason I doubt Bauer comes to PIT.

5.) 01 Dec 2016 16:15:23
Bauer doesn't have a say in where he could be traded.

6.) 01 Dec 2016 17:41:54
I doubt one exchange between athletes will haunt them forever.

7.) 01 Dec 2016 19:23:27
I can nearly garuntee that Huntington would not bring Bauer to Pittsburgh, almost garuntee it.

8.) 01 Dec 2016 20:16:20
I can almost guarantee that McCutchen wouldn't draw Trevor Bauer right now.

9.) 01 Dec 2016 23:42:53
So you think one of the best all around players in the game for the last 6 years won't fetch an unproven decent starter?

29 Nov 2016 00:25:51
I'm well aware that I've said a Sale deal won't happen but what do you guys think

White Sox trade: Sale
Dodgers trade: Pederson, Bellinger, De Leon, Calhoun, Alvarez, Sheffield

I feel this is what a return for Sale should be, a young MLB player, 4 top 100 prospects and another prospect.

Mambaout

1.) 29 Nov 2016 16:31:48
Any trade that has Dodgers and White Sox with Chris Sale. Will ultimately have Bellinger and Urias in it no matter what.

2.) 29 Nov 2016 17:47:01
You're asking LAD to give their entire farm system up. not going to happen, dodgers aren't even interested because CWS asking price is wayyyy to high.

3.) 29 Nov 2016 18:15:36
Yeah a little too much going to Chi Sox. I think if you include Pederson you have to take out Alvarez and Sheffield.

@metsjets I got to disagree. One or the other for sure but I don't think LA gives up Urias. As a sox fan I can live with the plethora of other prospects they have.

22 Nov 2016 08:59:23
Marlins trade: Ozuna
Cardinals trade: Wacha, Weaver, Sandy Alcantara

Marlins get 3 young pitchers Wacha whom I know a lot of people on this site feel he doesn't have a lot of value, but the dude won 17 games in 2015 and has postseason experience. If he returns to 2015 self he fills the hole left by Fernandez, Weaver could be a 3 starter, and of course Alcantara who is a flame thrower but a bit away.

Cardinals get their CF in Ozuna.

Mambaout

1.) 22 Nov 2016 11:46:09
I wouldn't be surprised if Tommy Pham as well to fill the hole in center till they can find a replacement or till one of their prospects are ready.

2.) 22 Nov 2016 22:28:16
Tommy Pham is, at best, a fourth OF.

3.) 22 Nov 2016 22:28:37
I think many of you are under-valuing Michael Wacha way too quickly.

4.) 22 Nov 2016 23:00:55
I agree Red Sox Guy, one bad season and people on here think he has little value and is horrible when the fact is in 2015 he was a top 20 maybe top 15 pitcher. I love Wacha and i'm not even a Cardinals fan. Personally i don't think the Cardinals should trade him as i still think he's an ace or has ace potential, but do to their rotation situation they will.

You think the O's will win the AL East? Are you nuts? It goes Sox Jays and the other three have the same probability of winning it. You have to rethink your logic.

2.) 02 Apr 2017 05:08:55
The Orioles were a wild card team last year. It's not like they got much worse.

06 Dec 2016 19:35:53
After hearing Red Sox fans talk months and months about untouchables 2 of the prospects that were supposedly "untouchable" got traded. Am I surprised? Not at all DD makes dumb moves a lot of this very well might be another in 4 years or so. Also many including myself said Sale was untouchable or at least very hard to get. This just shows there's no such thing as untouchable.

Mambaout

1.) 06 Dec 2016 23:05:59
The Red Sox will be very good for a few years yet, but their farm system is almost all but dead. Devers, Groome, and Sam Travis (who isn't wildly heralded by most scouts) . They'll end up doing what every Dombrowski team has done: rely on old, aging players on ridiculously stupid contracts, and in 4-5 years, they'll desperately sell those guys for whatever they can get.

Sounds a lot like Ruben Amaro with Philadelphia. Kind of funny that Amaro is in the Red Sox organization.

2.) 07 Dec 2016 01:10:56
Red Sox still have one of the best farm systems in Baseball, yes loseing those prospects took a hit on our system but we still have a great system with great coaches that will keep developing more and more great prospects year after year.

3.) 07 Dec 2016 04:27:16
Oh no I agree 100% how DD has a job is beyond me, how did the Red Sox not see the mess he left the Tigers in? In 2/ 3 years Red Sox will be just like the Tigers and DD will be fired.

27 Nov 2016 22:20:19
I don't know I feel this is getting posted but it's just something I feel needs do be discussed. In my opinion there needs to be a minimum payroll of anywhere between 125M and 150M. This year 4 teams had a payroll under 100M. That's not fair to those teams fans, I know teams like the Rays that say they're a small market team, well guess what if any owner doesn't have enough money/ want to spend money they should be forced to sell it's not good for the game. Imo there should be penalties for any team that ends the season with a payroll lower that either 125M or 150M, first time a team is lower the team forfeits their 2nd rounder, second time 1st rounder, third time 1st and 2nd rounder.

Mambaout

1.) 28 Nov 2016 00:33:25
a floor is only worthwhile if there is a ceiling to go with it as a reference. One without the other will make both sides of the negotiations unwilling to go forward.

11 Nov 2016 22:23:51
Today in baseball
Colon signs 1/ 12.5 with Braves
Morales 3/ 33 with Blue Jays
Dodgers trade Kendrick to phillies for Ruf and Sweeney.

Mambaout

1.) 11 Nov 2016 23:58:00
Personally I don't see the point of posting this because most people already know. Unless you are trying to spark opinions.

08 Nov 2016 04:00:47
Heres something to debate, O's trading Britton.

Why they shouldnt: They have a good chance to make the playoffs the next 2 seasons with no team like the Cubs in the AL its wide open meaning they could make the world series and Britton was arguably the most dominant pitcher all season

Why they should: His value will never be higher, their bullpen was a massive strength last season so its not like if they trade him it will be awful, he's probably going to leave in a couple years anyways. Probably the biggest point they have no farm system they trade him they could get a package similar to what the phillies got for Giles last year
What do you think.

Mambaout

1.) 08 Nov 2016 14:15:39
If the Orioles are blown away, I guarantee you, Britton gets traded.

By blown away, consider something like 1-2 top 25 prospects and 1 MLB ready player.

2.) 08 Nov 2016 14:38:43
I believe if they got something along the lines of what the Yankees got for Chapman and Miller they would do it in a heartbeat.

3.) 08 Nov 2016 17:10:51
If the Cubs gave a package along the lines of Schwarber + Happ, they'd do it. But I don't see much less than that for Britton.

4.) 08 Nov 2016 19:49:45
That's a nice package but I really doubt they trade Schwarber. What about a deal with the Dodgers? With the Dodgers sending Puig, De Leon, Yadier Alvarez, Brock Stewart. As I said above I feel they could get something like the Phillies/ Astros deal last year, Puig fills in that OF spot and I think Buck and co can get him to believe in the O's way. De Leon and Alvarez would add 2 frontline potential pitchers and Stewart can step in the rotation or help with the bullpen.

5.) 08 Nov 2016 20:15:54
I don't understand the Cubs' obsession with keeping Schwarber. His trade value is much higher than his actual value on their team.

He is a serious defensive liability in LF. And for a team that gave $184M to a defense-first player, having someone at the opposite side of the outfield being a huge liability basically goes against why they signed Heyward.

His trade value is enormous, but for whatever reason, the Cubs insist on keeping him. When Schwarber is nothing more than a backup 1B, this'll bite them in the ass.

6.) 09 Nov 2016 06:47:54
I would be quite alright with the O's trading Britton. To the NL too please. Guys a freak.

Looks like a championship caliber team to me LOLOLOLOLOL Are you trolling? The lineup has almost 0 power Bruce can't play 1B only good hitters are Cespedes and maybe Walker. Rotation no one can stay healthy except Thor, bullpen is very weak looking like a 80 win team max doubt starters will stay healthy.

You didn't watch any Rays games Sull, he got 0 run support, he had a few bad months but put it together.

5/ 38 is what's remaining on his contract I think. Easily the most team friendly deal in baseball it'd take a haul to get him we're talking maybe more than Sale.

The only chance they had at landing trout was Giolito, even then they'd have to package him with turner, and a lot of other pieces.

Oh my god I really have no idea why I'm still on this site, it's gone downhill so fast. This is just awful, Desmond has played 1 season in the outfield, Coors field has one of the biggest outfields. Putting a basically inexperienced guy in the center makes zero sense at all. You can't go he's going to play CF when the front office has said he'll play 1st. Blue Jays would be dumb to trade Stroman for Blackmon due to the fact that Stroman has 3 more years of control, younger and quite frankly they need him for when Happ and Estradas numbers start getting bad (this season) .

That being said Carter deal won't happen.

Now to the last trade Colome cemented himself as a top young closer, with multiple years of control Rays won't trade him unless they get a huge package.

Overall this is bad I give it an F seems like you didn't even try.

Other way around. Archer is an ace, he has more control than both Sale and Quintana, he's on an extremely team friendly deal, Rays have been asking for 4 to 5 prospects depending on the team, that wouldn't probably mean 2 top 30 guys a top 100 guyand 1 or 2 others.

Did someone say Sam Travis? Dudes going to be a stud untouchable, if the Red Sox win the title he's going to be a big reason why. In case no body can tell I'm being sarcastic.

Watson has been dominant for several years, Rosenthal to rotation makes no sense the Cards have too many starters and he couldn't even pitch 3 days in a row how is he going to pitch multiple innings every 5 days? Just because he might be a starter doesn't mean every team sees him that way, age doesn't matter K-Rod was great this past year and acts as a great bridge, Perkins isn't his old self because he was injured all season and was dominant the year before.

Really? Just to name a few, Watson, Rosenthal was dominant a couple years ago and wouldn't cost that much, Doolittle, K-Rod, Perkins same as Rosenthal, Robertson, Colome whom was an all star and Nationals have been in talks to acquire. They don't need a stud they have a good enough offense and starting pitching.

Really? Because for the better part of a year you've been obsessed with not trading him god forbid someone mention his name without you freaking out. Devers see correct spelling and I don't even follow the Sox is a year away Panda is by far the worst third baseman and Kopech hit 105 once and it wasn't confirmed.

Cubs have a good farm? Nope all their really good "prospects" are in the majors, they're only 2 or 3 deep. Red Sox farm is significantly worse than at the start of the offseason, Astros don't have that deep of a farm either. Not to mention you left out teams with great farm systems like the Rockies, Yankees, Brewers, Phillies, Braves.

Tell me how adding 5 really good prospects, including the number 1 overall and 3 overall doesn't make a team the best?
