wait, so this ian desmond thing with the mets just rumors? or did they actually attempt to get him. even if true the 3 way they discussed is no longer an option is it still possible they still can work a deal with the nats. or maybe get a 3rd team involved again?
1.) Apparently it was discussed as a three team trade with the Mets, Rays and Nationals. But the Mets would give up Syndagaard. So it fell apart.
2.) It's true they want him but nothing has happened yet. I would have to think a 3 way deal is definitely still possible though.
3.) Probably not now that the Rays traded zoberist and Escobar unless they find another team to be the 3rd team

I know it isn't likely so don't bash me. Just curious if this is a proper package to get tulo if the mets went that route. I only mention this bc apparently they've been discussing a deal for "weeks" that will be based around syndergaard according to espns adam rubin
Rockies get: Noah syndergaard, Dillon gee, Kevin plawcki, Wilmer Flores
Mets get: Tulo and 20% of the remaining contract
1.) That sounds about right to me, but I think Tulo is made of glass.
2.) Seems about right, mets may have to include montero as well for rockies to eat 20%
3.) Swap Flores for Montero or another piece. Actually, I bet it could even get done without Flores or even adding anyone. On the right track if a deal was actually being considered in my opinion.

Mets fans, unless you are a self-sadist, none of your projected packages will get you Tulo. Just sign Asdrubal Cabrera or Stephen Drew and move on.
5.) Yea, if its going to make us cringe it ain't happening just thought I made an interesting trade. tulo isn't worth trading a lot for but if I can get him without losing harvey wheeler degrom its tough to pass on him

I'd pass. His career numbers outside of Coors are pedestrian. 247/.349/.469 as opposed to .323/.397/.565.
He's injury-prone and has a terrible contract. he's owed $116M through his age 35 season (2020) with an option in 2021.
7.) ^ may be a short sample size but he's killed it at citi field. if getting him won't set the franchise back and we keep our big 3 i'm all in for it!

^He killed it at Citi Field facing Mets pitching. If all those pitchers suddenly join other teams, you may have a point.

I think you're missing the point. Using ballpark splits to gauge how someone would play in that stadium for a whole year is a flawed concept.
Troy Tulowitzki's stats at Citi Field come with Dillon Gee, Jon Niese, and other pitchers facing him. He will now join those guys. Will he hit the same numbers in that ballpark with Washington or Miami pitchers facing him? That's the issue with ballpark splits. It's only good if he continues to face those pitchers who he tore up at Citi.

It doesn't mean he won't. but ballpark splits make it close to impossible to gauge how he will play in that park in the future.

This is either a troll or you need to be educated. Secondly, you are downgrading the team by playing mercer over Flores, don't get me wrong Flores isn't an all star but def better.
