Now that the dodgers/red Sox trade is over. Dodgers still need at least one credible arm in the rotation.

Dodgers receive: Mike Clevinger

Indians receive: Keibert Ruiz and Josiah Gray

The Indians could get significantly more than that for Clevinger.

Before y'all continue to downvote me, consider the following:

From 2018-2019, Clevinger had 8.7 WAR. That's 11th. It's just abover Syndergaard (8.5) and Strasburg (8.1). He's just barely below Aaron Nola.

Syndergaard's price tag was monstrous and Strasburg just received 35M a year. Clevinger will make 4M this year and isn't a free agent until 2023.

The price tag will, and absolutely include at least one top ten prospect, and at least 1 major-leaguer with control. You're probably looking at 16-20 years of control for the return for Cleveland. It will be a massive haul.

For LA, that package would begin with Gavin Lux, and probably include someone like Julio Urias and then at least one really good prospect (Gonsolin, Gray, Graterol) . It'd be a tough pill to swallow for the team that gets Clevinger.

Even if the Cubs trade all 4 players. These packages are just fleecing the other teams of top 10 prospects. Every other team would laugh at the Yankees, Giants and Mets.

I know this site is for trade ideas. Butttt you got a better change robbing a bank than the Padres just handing Tatis back to the White Sox for a pitcher that's a 4 starter at best right now.

I'd say Micker Adolfo and Jose Ruiz to Atlanta for Mike Soroka and Acuna.

In all seriousness that's an overpay for Quintana. The guy has been worse since he got traded to the Cubs. The $13 million a year would be better suited else where.

If they are really wanting to bring him back. I'd say a 1/ $7 million with a 2nd year mutual option.

The trade with the Indians would go through if the Yankees didn’t think of the future. Yes Lindor is still under control till 2022 but if they would offer Frazier and Florial they would hurt in the OF since Stanton can’t stay healthy. The Yankees shouldn’t pick up the option on Gardner. So Frazier will take over in LF.

Good trade overall since the primary objective was to shed payroll. I still think the Red Sox could've gotten more. Verdugo is a great pick up and a future all star. Only time will tell on how this trade works out.

I can see the possibilities of these extensions but I think they will be more inclined to extend Judge, Torres, and Sanchez over Tanaka (injury prone) Paxton (injury prone) and LaMahieu (possible decline)
