Tigers won't put Martinez and Verlander in same deal because they can get more if they're sold separately, secondly not nearly enough money going to the Red Sox, Benintendi isn't going anywhere.
PREDICTION: Tigers asking price will be too high this offseason they will keep the main core then sell them at the deadline for not a whole lot.

The only person the Red Sox will consider trading Benitendi for is Chris Sale and they probably won't get him either and in my opinion they are better off without him.

I think the Nationals should see if Detroit would take Reynaldo Lopez instead of Giolito, negotiate the cash, and make this deal. Washington is a win-now team.
However, the Sox would do better to hang on to Benintendi, Holt and Johnson, and tell Detroit to keep those guys. Boston will likely sign EE to DH. If that happens, then they can come back to Verlander, who may be better suited on the West Coast, or try to swing a deal for a guy such as Chris Sale, who is much younger, and, truthfully, better.

The Nat's would be smart not to do this, I know Zimmerman had a down year but I think he will rebound. If the Nat's were smart they would focus on the bullpen and catcher, first and go into the season with Scherzer, Strasburg, Gonzales, Ross, Roark and Gialito in the rotation/ long reliever. The only change I see them making is to the bullpen and getting rid of Ben Riivere. Also resign Ramos but also sign someone like Soto to hold down the fort till Ramos is ready.

Also look at it this way: If the Nat's do trade for Miggy, 1st they lose their top prospect, 2nd where would they find the money to try to resign Harper? I would rather have $280 million tied up for 7 years on a player like Harper who is 10 years younger than Miggy.
Thats just my reasoning, and I think that it makes the most sense.

*Tony Watson is arguably one of the top 5 set up pitchers in mlb today and the top LHP set up guy by far.
*Mercer and Rodriguez are good SS's? lol
Castro would be a huge upgrade over both.
Price and Kingham are a good deal for Cubs. Kingham is #58 best prospect in mlb this year. What more do you want?

Uh, Grilli is already signed and Didn't know McGee was Injured. That said, I think Tigers desperately need a LH Reliever who is a shut down pitcher.

Rollins is batting. 239 right now and Bastardo 's ERA is 4. 17 and worse against LH Batters.
Way to much for both.
