AZ dbacks sign James Shields 5 years 100 Million.

2015 opening day rotation
1) Shields
2) Arroyo
3) Collmenter
4) Cahill
5) Hellickson

Anderson and Nuno options in case of injury or Arroyo not starting on opening day roster. Delgado can remain in the bullpen.

This gets the dbacks a big innings eater at the begining of the season and keeps them in the playoff race. Corbin returns as the number 2 for the second half of the season.

Bradley, Shipley, Blair continue to progress in minor leagues for 1 more season and replace Arroyo (FA 2016) and Cahill (FA 2017).

Dbacks add true leader of rotation and veteran to be a positive example for young guys.

Cf- Inciarte (L)/Pollock (R)
RF- David peralta (L)/ Tomas(R)
LF- Trumbo(R)/Ross(R)
1B- Goldschmidt (R)
2B- Aaron Hill (R)
SS- Owings (R)/ Pennington (S)
3B- Lamb (L)
C- Goosewich (R)

The lineup utilizes platoon memebers and balances left and right handed batters. Inciarte and peralta provide speed at the top of the lineup. Goldscmidt, Trumbo provide power.

90 + win team this year with room to grow between lineup and starting rotation.

1),Tomas can make an impact this season with a power bat
2)AJ Pollock can continue his performance from before his injury in June.
3) Owings can play plus defence and have a consistent bat.

Question is do dbacks make the moves this year or wait for the Dodgers to regret some big contracts like the current Yankees.

I doubt the D-Backs win 90 games next year.

2.) I doubt they will get 90 wins as well. I think 80 or 82 wins is more likely, maybe 85.

3.) If the D-Backs signed both Shields and Scherzer, 90 wins would likely still be out of reach.

4.) I also don't see them winning 90 games. They are clearly in the middle of the road in that division. SF, LAD, and now SD much better than them.

I agree. No way they win 90. Lucky to get 4th in the division.

7.) Sorry to rain on your parade but that's not happening

Rockies will be worst in division, they are clearly rebuilding shown by their interest in trading Tulo. Padres Ross Home ERA: 1.88, Road ERA: 3.79 (OVERRATED in a pitchers park) Cashner home ERA: 1.43, away ERA: 4.31. And the lineup has question marks, I doubt Matt Kemp comes close to 2014 performance due to his injury history. Giants lose 2nd best hitters and hide their weak pitching staff (outside of baumgardner) in AT&T park. Dbacks will be 2nd in the NL west next year and be in contention late in the year.

^Tony La Russa does have an executive position in the Diamonbacks. I not see how that has anything to do with the Diamondbacks being a terrible team next year.

10.) Dbacksfan93, your last comment is wrong I laughed before writing this reply. Ross and Cashner are both great pitchers, and their home/road splits won't matter with the powerhouse offense that is behind them now. The Giants did lose Sandoval, but their offense will still provide plenty of punch with a full year of Joe Panik and adding Casey McGehee to cover some of Sandoval's production. They will also likely add a LF to help replace some production as well,so their offense will be fine. The Giants also have a strong bullpen, Casilla, Affeldt, Machi, Lopez, and Romo are all anchors and other than a few blemishes had good years all around. Their rotation, w/ Bumgarner and a healthy Cain has a great 1-2, and w/ Hudson, Peavy and Lincecum/Petit backing them up, they will still have a strong rotation. The Diamondbacks on the other hand, have almost nothing. Beyond Goldy, their offense is a huge question mark. Tomas may end up being terrible and who knows if Trumbo will be healthy enough to repeat his performance w/ the Angels. Their bullpen has't improved either, and they were horrible last season. Their rotation has gotten worse, losing Miley and adding only Hellickson and Rubby De La Rosa. Josh Collmenter is their projected #1, so that's an idea of how that season is going to go. The D-Backs will grab the 4th position in the division next season w/ COL not far behind. They will be lucky to win 75 games next season.

Dbacksfan93, I can't stop laughing. The dbacks will be 4th in the division behind SF , SD , and LA.
The padres will contend but the Giants and Dodgers will run away towards the end.

12.) Not if the Giants don't get another starter.
