The blue jays sign both Francisco Rodriguez, and Rafael Soriano to one year contracts

1.) The Phillies are going to want more than Navarro in return for Howard especially if they are eating most of the salary. I would also think they would want someone better than Navarro.

If they ghought he was useless, they would have cut him loose like Dan Uggla. They obviously see some value. 100%, heck, even 75% of his contract is worth more than a catcher they don't need.

^No, they haven't cut him loose because they think they can sucker some team into trading for him, so try won't have to pay the entirety of his contract.Every team possesses at least three guys who can math Howard's production at this point in his career.

in a perfect world, the Jays would re-sign Melky, pick up Sandoval and use him as DH, shift Reyes at third and pick up Asdrubal Cabrera to play short and gun for speed in the outfield to cover the running slack for Melky and Bautista, someone like say, Dexter Fowler who has been rumored to be a target anyway.

so what would it take to get Dexter Fowler?
