Twins trade:
Hector Santiago
John Ryan Murphy (AAA Rochester)
Rays trade:
Brent Honeywell (#2 Rays prospect)
Xavier Cedeno
Easton McGee (#24 Rays Prospect)

I am a Twins fan, but why would Tampa Bay do this?
2.) 20 Aug 2016 21:50:25
This would be a ridiculous overpay from the Rays.
3.) 21 Aug 2016 05:04:01
Santiago has an ERA in the stratosphere his last 5 starts or so. He won't net anything worth of value.

If the Rays trade that package it will be for a good hitter not an average mid-rotation starter and a backup catcher.

Padres trade:
Andrew Cashner
Twins trade:
Tyler Jay (Twins #6 prospect, #2 pitching prospect)
Less than $800,000 cash
hmu.

I'd have to say the Twins say no
Now it isn't that the trade is horrible for the Twins, but how does he fit with this team?
He's not been much better over the course of his career than any of the Twins top guys right now. He also blocks Berrios and takes a rotation spot that they don't have to give and, if I'm not mistaken, he will be a free agent at the end of the year.
No thanks.

I agree with you I'm just thinking playoff-wise if the Twins get into the playoffs, then look at the pitchers they are stuck with (Duffey, Berrios, Hughes, Santana, maybe Milone, and maybe Gibson)? They need someone that at least can get them thru the year at the Twins price range.
3.) 03 Mar 2016 00:19:56
I am okay with it.
4.) 03 Mar 2016 01:20:29
Eh, I would pass up on this. Twins value Jay alot.

Wait, the Padres get to clear Cashner's salary, get a first-round draft pick, AND get $800K?
Shouldn't the money go to Minnesota to cover Cashner's salary?

Marlins have Carter Capps who is a very decieving pitcher with an odd motion which will bring up his value. They need a set up though.

There is no difference in this trade, plus why would the Blue Jays want to trade one of their best players (Encarnacion) and a decent pitcher, but even more, the Nationals wouldn't trade their number 2 starter and their multi position player, especially if they are both trying to make the playoffs in the next year or two.
