nyy15

1.) 19 Jan 2016 11:38:01
not nearly enough from the Mets.

2.) 19 Jan 2016 14:29:39
Mets need to give up more.

3.) 20 Jan 2016 13:40:12
As a Mets fan we need to give up more than a backup IF (with ont year left), a pitcher who is out all year for TJ surgery and a low prospect.

19 Jan 2016 00:54:06
Angels trade Nick Tropeano, Julio Garcia, Jett Bandy

Rockies trade Charlie Blackman.

nyy15

nyy15

1.) 21 Jan 2016 03:47:15
chris beck and Hector Noesi.

2.) 21 Jan 2016 22:53:49
Noesi is in Korea.

3.) 22 Jan 2016 22:49:12
okay so Noesi is in Korea not Japan?

and because Noesi is in ASIA the white sox should add a guy like Noesi, maybe Jacob Turner or Tommy Kahnle.

4.) 24 Jan 2016 01:43:02
Last time I checked Korea is indeed in Asia.

5.) 26 Jan 2016 01:29:54
I think he was saying that Japan and Korea were both in Asia.

Rangers say no quickly.

28 Dec 2015 21:39:47
Trade just happened

Yankees receive: Aroldis Chapman

Reds receive: Eric Jagielo, Rookie Davis, Caleb Cotham, Tony Renda

What do you guys think?

nyy15

1.) 28 Dec 2015 21:48:31
The Yankees got a steal unfortunately, I would have thought that the Reds would have been asking for Refsnider (before the Frazier deal which got the Peraza) but I still would think that they would want one or both Judge and Sanchez or maybe even Siverino so I think the Yankees made off like bandits in this one which hurts to say since I am a sox fan. But I still think that additions of Price, Kimbral, Smith, Young (ex-Yankee) beat the Yankees additions of Chapman, Castro, hicks. So we had the better offseason and we had the better team to start heading into the offseason too so. The Red Sox are still better. But the addition of Chapman makes the back end with Miller Batansis and Chapman scary good unless this is the 1st step of an Andrew Miller trade.

2.) 28 Dec 2015 21:56:52
Great move for Yankees, horrible move for Reds. Although Reds save $12m in payroll, the return was horrible. Jageilo was the top prospect and he's over rated! Davis we be nothing but a average bullpen arm at best. Have no clue who the other 2 are so my guess is they will be no help. Reds whiff on 2nd offseason trade.

3.) 28 Dec 2015 22:12:57
reds made a mistake cause they couldve got a lot more in return but at the same time with a potential issue of that violence issue that came up which nixed the dodgers deal, he could get suspended for that

but 3 guys who has a 14.0 k/ ip and an era around 2.00.thats lethal and sorry royals, but this is the best bullpen today and perhaps ever

but with that domestic violence over his head, what if he gets suspended for 50 games. ok they get him for only 112 games but maybe only 50 games he pitches in. so they get him for that amount of time and what if the violence issue is so severe (to the amount we don't know about yet) and he's suspended for the whole year (which is a minimal chance) then the yankees got rid of 4 prospects for nothing and chapman is a free agent after the year

my dad wanted chapman for the tigers (since he's a fan of them) but when they got rodriguez, he got mad but i told him rodriguez would be a better option as chapman throws hard enough to where he can hurt his elbow and may not be the same afterwards

but if he gets suspended for a whole year, chapman would be a free agent in 2018 and not 2017 but if its only that amount then its a good deal

i believe chapman needs 138 more days of service time in order to become a free agent in 2016-2017 offseason but if it falls under that, even at 137 days of service, he has to wait till the 2017-2018 offseason which makes this deal for the yankees better.

4.) 28 Dec 2015 23:58:40
Reds are failing their rebuild. They got a horrible package for Frazier and they waited way too long to trade Chapman. The highlight of the Frazier deal can't get on base, has no power, and defensive questions. And why did they hold onto chapman when a non-contending team doesn't need a closer?

5.) 29 Dec 2015 01:31:32
the yankees now have the top bullpen trio in mlb, if they keep them. k. c. showed that a world series can be won that way. the yankees are following that pattern

cincinnati needs help in the front office. the reds have traded a top 20 mlb talent in frazier and perhaps the best reliever in baseball for a handful of prospects that are uninspiring. it will be a while before cincy will contend.

6.) 29 Dec 2015 03:41:52
Clearly a steal for the Yankees. This Domestic Violence case must have really hit Chapman's value. I think its a downgrade from whatever they were going to get from the Dodgers.

7.) 29 Dec 2015 17:28:04
It's not much of a steal at all for the Yankees.

Chapman will either spend a good amount of 2016 suspended, or he'll become a free agent after one year. Teams aren't giving up major prospects for that.

The price was right foe Chapman.

Prediction:

Johnny Cueto signs with the Dodgers 5yrs $135 million.

nyy15

1.) 11 Dec 2015 18:12:19
I can see him going to the Dodgers, but for 7 years.

10 Nov 2015 03:08:12
1. Cubs sign David Price
2. Yankees sign Jason Heyward
3. Dodgers resign Zach Greinke
4. Angels sign Justin Upton
5. Orioles resign Chris Davis
6. Tigers sign Yoenis Cespedes
7. Blue Jays sign Jordan Zimmerman
8. Red Sox sign Johnny Cueto
9. Royals resign Alex Gordon
10. Padres sign Ian Desmond
11. Giants sign Jeff Samardzija
12. Red Sox sign Mike Leake
13. Dodgers sign Wei-Yin Chen
14. Dodgers sign Kenta Maeda
15. Braves sign Matt Wieters.

nyy15

1.) 10 Nov 2015 16:24:20
Unless you're shotgunning your predictions, I don't see the Dodgers getting 3 pitchers. Unless one of them is a one-year deal to buy time for McCarthy to return.

With this, you'll have a future rotation of Kershaw, Greinke, Alex Wood, Maeda, Chen, Ryu, McCarthy. that's a lot of money and not enough spots.

05 Nov 2015 13:04:44
1. Price resigns with the Blue Jays
2. Cueto signs with the Red Sox
3. Zimmerman signs with the Giants
4. Cespedes signs with the Tigers
5. Alex Gordon resigns with the Royals
6. Zobrist signs with the Yankees
7. Leake resigns with the Giants
8. Desmond signs with the Padres
9. Chapman is traded to the Diamondbacks
10. Cargo is traded to the Mets.

nyy15

1.) 05 Nov 2015 16:29:16
Regarding the following:

1. I give Toronto a 10% chance at re-signing Price, and that's only due to their history of not going into long contracts. Plus, I think they get completely outbid.

5. I can't see the Royals re-signing Gordon. At all. Royals have to consider the other young players who will only get more expensive, and I think Gordon's price will get out of their comfort zone.

6. The last thing NY needs is another aging player.

9. I don't see the Diamondbacks giving up the prospects for one year of Chapman. Just can't see it.

10. I'm banking on CarGo being moved mid-season.

2.) 06 Nov 2015 17:11:39
That rule isn't a thing for the Jays anymore, it was a Beaston rule, and he's gone.

3.) 07 Nov 2015 04:23:58
I said they have a history of not doing it, not a hard and fast rule.

Shapiro doesn't exactly have a long-standing track record of spending heavily on free agents, either.

I think they'll spend some money, but no where close to the money that David Price is going to get.

4.) 07 Nov 2015 04:29:57
Also, do you really see Toronto re-signing Price? Honestly.

5.) 08 Nov 2015 20:57:35
Cespedes is not going back to the Tigers. They simply can't afford him. Besides, Avila already made it clear he's focusing mainly on pitching in FA and the trade market.

24 Feb 2015 20:45:33
The Yankees should've signed Yoan Moncada

nyy15

1.) Yes they should have Sherlock. Who ever told Cashman not go over 27 million should be fired. It wasn't the Steinbrenners who told him not to. Cashman should have defied it. And they wonder why they can't get a decent farm system. Stuff like this nonsense. Moncada would have been like a number 1 pick in the draft, how often do they get one, never. Stupid move on whoever decided to not allow them to outbid Boston. They have passed on every Cuban talent, its very sad.

2.) 26 Feb 2015 15:23:00
A #1 pick that cost about 10-15 times more than a #1 pick. you should be thankful the Yankees didn't sign him at that price.

3.) True that part maybe good, but he was a prospect they really needed. They have more infield openings that Boston does down the road.

4.) 26 Feb 2015 23:25:48
Good prospects are almost a dime a dozen at this point. No need paying $60M+ for one.

You're name speaks for itself. Encarnacion isn't 1/ 3 of what Houston would want in return. Throw in Aaron Sanchez and a mid level prospect and i'd consider it.
