Forget 500 home runs, Manny Ramirez has his eyes on another prize, a Gold Glove. But, as stated by Ramirez, there is one problem. "How am I going to win a Gold Glove if they take me out in the 8th (inning)", mentioned the Sox left fielder, repeating a line he has passed through the clubhouse since he was removed for defensive replacement Jacoby Ellsbury Friday against the Twins.

Minutes into the game, Livan Hernandez and the Twins watched another ball sail over the wall for the other side. Boston's Manny Ramirez made it a league-most 42 home runs allowed by the Twins, who only shrugged off the early deficit and went back to playing the way they always have.

Has Daisuke Matsuzaka's mythical gyroball in the end made an appearance stateside? The Japanese right hander had a pitch slip out of his hand in the 3rd inning and land about 5 feet from the mound before rolling to the plate, one of the few things he did wrong in Boston's 5-2 win over the Twins on Saturday night.

Mike Lamb was looking for a hit like this. Jonathan Papelbon? He's not used to this. The struggling Lamb lifted the Twins past the Red Sox 7-6 Friday with a 2 run single in the 9th inning against Papelbon, who blew his 2nd consecutive save opportunity.

Carlos Gomez would not think his name was in the same sentence as Kirby Puckett's. Gomez became the 1st Twins player since Puckett 22 years ago to hit for the cycle, Livan Hernandez had taken a shutout into the 9th and Minnesota beat the White Sox 13-1 Wednesday.
