Leave it to Chipper Jones to sum up the Braves' season after another triumph at Turner Field, "We are not bad here. We stink on the road". Mark Kotsay knocked in the go ahead run in the 8th inning with a 2 out RBI double, and the Braves edged the Athletics 3-2 Friday night for their 8th straight home win.

Indians manager Eric Wedge is certain he's never before seen what his starting staff is accomplishing. C.C. Sabathia pitched a 5 hitter and struck out 11 in the Indians' major league leading 7th shutout, a 2-0 win over the Athletics Wednesday that moved Cleveland into the AL Central lead.

The Indians are attempting to mix in some timely hitting with their stellar starting pitching and strong defense. Paul Byrd and 2 relievers combined for the Indians' 4th shutout in 7 games and Ryan Garko delivered a 3 run homer in a 4-0 win over the Athletics Tuesday.

Emil Brown and the Athletics used an aggressive approach to jump start their offense. Brown hit a 3 run homer and drove in 4 runs to help the Athletics beat Texas 12-6, ending the Rangers' season best 5 game winning streak Sunday.

Chad Gaudin is moving from the Athletics' rotation to the bullpen, where he's spent most of his previous 5 major league seasons. The A's need to make room for the return of right handed starter Rich Harden, who will come off the 15 day DL to start Sunday's series finale at Texas.
