How can Red Sox NOT be involved for Jose Fernandez? They can lock things up like this:
Red Sox trade:
Rusney Castillo
Eduardo Rodriguez,
Matt Barnes
Yoan Moncada
Edwin Escobar
&
Devon Marrero
to
Miami
for
Fernandez and Ozuna.

The Red Sox wouldn't want to trade all of that for Fernandez, they can just go out and sign someone like Mike Leake for way cheaper.

I agree why empty our farm system for 2 guys who we could find people to fill those spots in free agency and still have all those prospects.

Guys, "prospects" are like stocks. Some are good, some BOMB! This is a "get" of a proven superstar pitcher (who by the way is BETTER than the guy we just gave $31 million a year to) who we'll have 3 VERY Controllable years of. With Price, Fernandez, Owens, Porcello, etc, we'll be sitting pretty. Aren't you tired of seeing these 30+ yr old pitchers getting THIS CRAZY money for roughly 3 good years?

Nyy15 please tell me how a guy who is going to make about 15-20M is cheaper than a guy projected to make 2.2M via arbitration. Sull I don't know how many times I have to tell you, if you have guys making a ton of money per year the prospects will never be able to get consistent playing time!

Let's go add another pitcher worth another 20 million because why the hell not we're the Red Sox just stop. And high key don't like any of the Red Sox prospects hope they end up failing in Boston but succeed in another organization.

It's funny, people claim that prospects are like stocks and some fail when they want to give up said players, all the while, they treat them like they are no-doubt, can't miss future superstars.
