The number one issue with the Cubs going into the offseason will be what they intend to do with Aroldis Chapman. Resign him would be the best situation, however, he won't be cheap and he won't be on a short contract. Without this question answered, the Cubs are just twiddling their thumbs.

Soler sucks a** no team in their right mind would trade for him. Smyly is a number 2 pitcher Soler is a guy that should be in the independent league. Sull is still going to argue though.

Solar had a pretty good year and when I meant he would be the headliner of the trade since he would be the only MLB ready talent heading to TB and the Cubs could still add some high level prospects to the trade as well.

He might not have had a great year but he significantly improved his production from last year. The loss of Schwarber deffenitly helped so he could get more at bats but he has regained some of his value. And for Smyly he had a down year which lowers his value as well. I feel like if the Cubs send Solar and possibly a top 15 prospect to the rays for Smyly and either a low level prospect or possibly even a bullpen arm if the Cubs send a little more I can see this happening.

Soler did have a .769 OPS, though that doesn't mean he is good enough to get Smyly. You can't really say that he had a good year because he on had 220 or so ABs.

I just think that Solar who is an outfielder and the Rays need ourfielders and solar is young too and with all the pitching the Rays have they can move on from Smyly. That was just my idea.
