I believe that is to much for Papelbon.

That probably leaves Detroit out of the playoffs, even if it all happened.

WAY too early to say who will or won't be in the playoffs next season.

And do you believe Paps would be a happy camper setting up for K Rod?

True it is too early to predict who will be in the playoffs next season. However this doesn't improve the Tigers that much and look how they were this past season.

Don't think for a second that as teams make moves, they don't consider whether or not they have enough to make the playoffs. A team in a rebuild, like Cincinnati, knows they won't. A team that just made the postseason, such as Toronto, wants to return, and is making moves to get back there. Then you have a team such as Detroit, that had gotten accustomed to being there; they expect to be there every year, and will make moves this winter to do so.
